Read a good book... from the Library

Browsing the Library

Everybody loves to read a good book. But they do cost a lot of money. Don't forget that bastion of free books located near to almost everyone in America and perhaps near to many others around the world; the public library.

For many of us it's actually free to get a library card and check out a few good books every week. I happen to not be one of those folks.

I pay about $40 a year for a library card but once I've read two books it's paid for itself and everything else is free. My family are all voracious readers; thank the Lord for the public Library!

I recently heard about a pastor in Africa who has a personal library comprising a few dozen books. It may not seem large to you, but for that pastor, and in that region it's a massive library! He has notebooks filled with pages and pages of names of the people in his village and in neighboring villages who have come to borrow, read and return his books.

Those local villagers will never be able to zip over to the local Barnes and Noble and dump a wad of cash on the register counter. But they've found the solution to reading a good book without having to invest money.

Go to your local library this week and save a bundle in the process. At about $20 per book I save about $2600 a year!
